Malik underscored her decision, saying, "If Brij Bhushan Singh's business partner and a close aide is elected as the president of WFI, I quit wrestling." The wrestling community now grapples with the implications of this unexpected retirement and the broader call for inclusivity within the sport's leadership.

Sakshi Malik, born on September 3, 1992, is an Indian wrestler who gained global acclaim for her achievements. She made history at the 2016 Rio Olympics by becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in wrestling, securing the bronze in the 58kg category.
